Maria Luisa Carrasquillo, lovingly referred to as “Tita”, was a caring daughter, mother, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother and friend. Tita was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico on January 30, 1943 and was the eldest daughter of Gregoria and Leopoldo Martinez. She met and married the love of her life, Enrique Carrasquillo, and together with their four children Sara, Luis Alberto, Rolando, and Marisol, moved to Rochester, New York in 1968. There, they welcomed a new baby, Evelyn. Tita was known for her style and loved finding beautiful shoes.  We loved her laugh, wit, and quick sarcasm. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her Bacalaitos and Sopa de Bollitas.Tita cherished her role as a wife and mother and found great joy in tending to her garden. Every year she carefully harvested her beans. Throughout her life, Tita found her strength in her faith and it was her guide until the end.
