The family later moved to Rochester, New York where Daniel attended Franklin High School from 1976 through 1980. After high school, Daniel was hired at New Crown Beverages, a job he enjoyed.
In 1986 Dan joined the Local #13 Plumbers Union where he achieved his plumbing certification. Throughout the years Dan learned several trades including carpentry, electrical, roofing, masonry work, drywall, painting, and so many other skills. Basically, Dan could build you a house.
In 2007 Daniel met April Moore of Rochester, NY through mutual friends. Their relationship blossomed over the years, and they were married. Dan and April loved each other with their heart and soul. They took care of each other through thick and thin. They began raising their grandson, Jamar Jr., in 2012. Dan had a special relationship with Jamar Jr., and the two spent a great deal of time together. Anything Jamar Jr. needed, Dan was there for him.

Daniel was also strong-minded and thought that anything was possible. When he had ideas, he made them come alive. He was self-motivated, and he loved the work he did until his last days. A Jack of All Trades, he earned the title “Dan the Man” from his family. Dan loved family gatherings and entertaining his guests. A very well-loved uncle by his nieces and nephews, he was always there to help in any way he could.

We mourn the loss of the Matriarch of our Family.

Known as Pat or Patty to her nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors, she was vibrant, feisty, adventurous, and renowned for her zest for life, her profound connection with God, our Lord and Savior, and her deep love for family. As a survivor of two near-death experiences, this brought her even closer to God and confirmed she would be blessed to be with God forever in Eternal Life!

Patty was very faithful, providing wisdom to her family, full of surprises and beautiful smiles. She had a passion for music and singing; she would dance at the drop of a hat. She loved horses and spent much of her adult life riding and caring for them. If she challenged you to a game of pool, you quickly learned she was quite the shark. She loved to fish, be near water, and cared for her ducks on the Erie Canal.

Pat had an inherited strong will with a vibrant independent spirit that led her through many chapters in her full life from a youth group ministry counselor to a bus driver brightening up the days of her students. She was driven to obtain her Associates Degree, earned her Real Estate Broker license, owned Rainbow’s End storefront, and in the early 1980s was the owner/landlord of the building on Main St in Naples, NY that once housed the US Post office with several small businesses and apartments until she retired in 2006. She was committed to creating community wherever she could.

December 11th, 2023, would have been Patricia’s 83rd birthday, and the family has chosen this day to be her Celebration of Life. Pat’s wishes were for a Memorial Catholic mass at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Greece at 10:30 a.m. (3003 Dewey Ave, Rochester, NY 14616), where she was a parishioner for many years. Following the mass, Pat’s ashes will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (Dewey Ave Entrance). All are invited to join the family at Foster’s Family Restaurant in Hilton, immediately following.

In Pat’s own words: “Wear Bright colors for I am happy to be Home in Heaven. Gather with Song and Dance, for I will be doing that in Heaven. ”

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the floor where Patricia’s quality care was given.

Obituary of Isabel Mari Albarran

Isabel Mari Albarran

Rochester, NY – at 80 years old passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 14, 2023, after a long illness.
Isabel is predeceased by her parents Isabelino & Asuncion Carrion Padilla; siblings Victor Sierra, Santos Sierra, LaRubia, and Pilar Sierra; stepson Francisco Albarran; and step-grandson Wilver Rosado.
Survived by her loving husband Israel Albarran; children Elizabeth (Jose) Ayala, Ed (Dennis) Albarran, Richard (Kisha) Albarran; stepdaughter Nilda (Oscar) Albarran; grandchildren Julio Alvarado, Yahaira (Arthur) Roe, Alexa Ayala, Richard Albarran Jr.; great-grandchildren Arthur “Coco” Roe, Arriana Alvarado, Isabella DiPasquale; step-grandchildren Michelle (Will) Jones, Willie Rosado, and Josie Rosado; sisters Doris (William) Otero, Ramona Torres, Delia Martinez, Francisca Picon; and many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Isabel was born May 14, 1943, in Manati, Puerto Rico to Isabelino & Asuncion. She was the youngest of 9 children. Isabel got married to her husband Israel on August 5, 1963, and moved to Brooklyn, NY. She worked for the Rochester City School District and Monroe County for 22+ years. She was brave and strong – she would walk to School 22 every day. While in Rochester, Isabel and her family became part of the St. Michael’s Church family. In 1998, doctors told Isabel the best thing for her health would be to move to a warmer climate, so she and Israel moved to Puerto Rico. They lived there 22 years until Isabel was forced to come home to Rochester, NY due to her declining health. Isabel defied the odds of passing away on February 4, 2020, when she went into the hospital with congestive heart failure and was intubated – yet her time was not then.
Isabel could cook her butt off – one of the last dishes she made was Mofongo. Everything she made was delicious.
One of our favorite memories with our mom was having coffee, cheese, and bread every Sunday after church with our family.

We would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hildebrandt Hospice Center for their amazing care and kindness they showed our mom.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 21 from 4-8PM at Dierna Funeral Home.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, November 22 at 10AM at St. Michael’s Church 859 N. Clinton Ave. Rochester, NY 14605. Interment immediately following at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
