Obituary of Ann Legnini

Ann Legnini
Date Of Death: Friday, January 28, 2022
Dierna Funeral Home

Angelina (Ann) Flora Legnini

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ann Flora Legnini of Fairport, New York, who passed away at her home on January 28, 2022 at the age of 98 to be with her Lord and Savior. She is predeceased by: Her parents, Domenic and Pasqua Pulito of Rochester, NY; her husband Raymond F. Legnini; sister Mary Locigno and brother Joseph Pulito. She is survived by her devoted children: Son, Raymond N. Legnini of Los Angeles, CA, and daughter, Marilyn A. Legnini of College Park, MD. She is also survived by her caring niece Elaine Goley (Ron), and many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the U.S. Ann graduated from East High School of Rochester, NY in 1941. She pursued her calling in nursing by attending St Mary’s School of Nursing, Rochester, NY and graduating in 1945. During that time she volunteered in the Army Cadet Nurse Corps at the Veterans Hospital in Utica, NY. After graduation and further studies at the University of Rochester, she started her career as a Monroe County public health nurse. Ann retired in 1985 from the County Public Health Service after 38 years. Following retirement she continued her care of patients by volunteering with Hospice at the Isaiah House, and Strong Memorial ambulatory surgery. In addition to her nursing career, she was a devoted mother showing her children unconditional love throughout her life, and spending much time in prayer for family and friends. Her 98 years were full, enjoying many cross-country trips, and visits to Europe and Israel with her husband and family. Ann was an avid reader, enjoyed participating in The Moose Club activities, attending Church and Bible studies, loving her little Maltese Molly, and dancing and music. She also will be remembered for her quick wit, caring nature, sense of humor, and as a wonderful hostess and cook. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses with the University of Rochester Medical System, Highland Hospital, and Home Care who treated her for many years. We are especially thankful to the home care aids (Carolyn, Moureen, Mattie, Gina and Cierra) who were a blessing to Ann and the family, and we are grateful for Ann’s long-time neighbors on North Passage. Due to Covid concerns, a memorial service will be planned for a future date. However, prayers for Ann and the family will be greatly appreciated at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852 or online at: www.kidneyfund.org.To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Ann Legnini, please visit our Tree Store

Obituary of  Tomas Rosario

Tomas Rosario
Date Of Death: Wednesday, January 5, 2022
Dierna Funeral Home

Tomas “Tito” Santiago Rosario

January 5, 2022. Born August 28th, 1933 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Predeceased by his mother, Matilde & father Santiago; sister, Lydia Medina; brother, Santiago Santiago; and sons, Luis, Benito (Benny), Nicolas (Campolo), Angel Luis (Angelo). Survived by his wife, Josefina Rosario; daughters Luz (Lucy) Delgado-Rhodes (James), Myriam Martinez (Hector), Marisol (Mari) Grisby (Michael); sons Thomas (Macho) Santiago (Lisa) and Thomas (Pingili) Saez; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends and family who all loved him dearly. He will forever be in our hearts. Anyone who wishes to pay their respects is welcome Sunday 2-6PM at Dierna Funeral Home 2309 Culver Rd. (near Norton). Family will gather Monday 10-11AM at the Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery. We had a proud Papá. He was proud of his cars, proud to be Puerto Rican, but above all he was proud of his family. He was proud of every achievement we had from the smallest award, graduation, wedding, grand and great grandchild being born, and every driver’s test passed. At every event his eyes filled with tears of pride and we laughed and embraced him thinking, “that’s our papa.” As we celebrate his life we know that he will not be with us to see all we do in the future but we will remember him with every big and small accomplishment we have. And just as he was so proud of us, we carry the same pride for him. We are so proud he was our papá. Thank you to all friends and family who have reached out to provide words of comfort, who have provided meals, helped with planning and have stood by our side to help comfort us.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Tomas Rosario, please visit Tribute Store
