Maethonia “Mae” Scott
December 7, 1956 – October 8, 2025

Maethonia Scott, affectionately known as “Mae,” passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, where she worked for over 40 years. Born in Andrews, South Carolina, she was predeceased by her husband, Deacon Samuel L. Scott, and one grandchild.

She is survived by her sons, Samuel C. and Kevin M. Scott; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four siblings; and a host of relatives and friends. Her love for Pepsi and her joyful spirit will be fondly remembered.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 24, from 6–8 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, October 25, at 11 AM at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, 111 Clifton St., Rochester, NY. Pastor James L. Culyer officiating. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery
