Ms. Clara Buie, born December 19, 1949, in Rochester, New York, entered into rest on January 7, 2026. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she lived a life defined by love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Willie Buie and Lucille Knight, and was preceded in death by her son, John Simmons, Jr. Though she faced life’s challenges with quiet strength, her greatest joy was found in the family she nurtured and the lives she touched.
Ms. Buie will forever be treasured by her four children: Earnest Stanley, Jr., Chevoyia Stanley, Karlissa “Lisa” Lawson, and Kareem Tillman; her six grandchildren; her brother, Horace Buie; and a host of loving relatives and dear friends who will carry her memory forward with gratitude and affection.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 4:00 PM, with visitation from 2:00–4:00 PM, at Dierna Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

I’ve known Mrs. Clara since I was around 18 years old. I use be at her house along with all the neighborhood kids. As young men we would often sit on her porch. Along with her brother Toot, her sons Chevoyia an Ernest Stanley. Clara was always good to me and Brothers. Thank you for all the good times and learning experience you shared with us.
