Daniel Isidore, age 74, of Rochester, New York, passed away on May 5, 2025. He was born on November 20, 1950, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Carmen (Cupidon) and Gerard Isidore.
In 1959, at the age of 9, Daniel migrated to the United States with his family, settling in Rochester, New York—a city he would proudly call home for most of his life. He also spent time living in Syracuse, New York, and Rockford, Illinois. Early in adulthood, he married Elrita Warren, and later, he married Michele McDowell.
Daniel worked for many years at Chrysler before retiring. He was charismatic, kind, and forgiving. A natural jokester, he found joy in making others laugh and feel welcome. He loved playing chess, cards, and the numbers. A devoted sports fan, he especially enjoyed cheering for the Buffalo Bills and Syracuse basketball. His favorite movie, Step Brothers, reflected his love for humor and connection. He had a timeless sense of style—always sharply dressed—and carried himself with a calm, cool confidence that made people gravitate toward him.
Daniel is survived by his children: Yantise Jenkins (Bernard), Derrell Cuyler, and Danielle Isidore; and by his grandchildren: Grayson Derrell Cuyler, Christopher Jenkins, Collin Jenkins, and Caleb Jenkins. He shared a close bond with Danielle’s fiancé, Jake Georgia, who was like a son to him.
He is also survived by his siblings: Rene Isidore (Valarie), Yanick Isidore, and Olympe Griffin (Jim). He was preceded in death by his daughter Angela Burke and by a beloved brother, Gerard Isidore, Jr.
Daniel will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and love he had for his family and friends.
Services will be held Monday May 12th from 2-5pm at Dierna Funeral Home 2309 Culver Rd.
