Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 25, 2025.

Predeceased by her brothers Jerry, Bobby, and Richard Hommel.

Survived by her loving husband John “Jack” Hopkins; children Gregory (Karen) Hopkins and Jeffrey Hopkins; and grandchildren Kaylee (Matt Scofield) Hopkins, Sammy Hopkins, and Julianna Hopkins.

Diane was affectionately known to her family as “Grandma Scooter”. She graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School and retired from JFS Curtze after many years of hard work. She loved her family and all animals. When things got tough, she laced up her boots and kept on going.

A special thanks to Erin, Jill, and Andrew, the U of R Hospice staff, also known as “The A-Team”, for their outstanding care and compassion.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 18th from 5-7:15PM, followed by a service at 7:15PM at Dierna Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diane’s name to Lollypop Farm.
