Dorothy E. “Dot” Griffin
October 17, 1959 – January 19, 2026
Dorothy E. Griffin, lovingly known as “Dot,” was born on October 17, 1959, in Rochester, NY, to Willie & Lillie Mae Griffin. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, Dot lived a life centered on family, faith, and generosity of spirit.
Dot departed this life on January 19, 2026, in Clayton County, GA, surrounded by her loving family. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone blessed to know her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Brandon J. (Barbara) Griffin, Willie J. Simmons, and Lillie M. Smith; 13 grandchildren; 4 great‑grandchildren; 14 siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 7th at 11:00 AM, with visitation from 10:00–11:00 AM, at Faith Church, 1876 Elmwood Avenue.
Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Dot’s legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

I also had the pleasure of working with Auntie Dot for 6years at the highlands at Brighton and we shared so many memories together working at HAB . You will truly be missed Auntie Dot I love you so much and continue to SIP

  3. I will miss being able to call and talk to you .I will say this you were the best of us. You are at peace now, there is no more suffering from the pain destroying your body. Your soul is resting and I will love and miss you for the rest of my life.

  4. I love you mom! This is one of the hardest things to date ! You loved me as a mother. You always showed up for your grandkids. Not being able to call you is one of the hardest things I’ve dealt with. Your wisdom and grace carry me through many seasons of my life.
