Herald Facey, affectionately known as “Daddy Roy,” was born on April 20, 1953, in St. Catherine, Jamaica, W.I. He was the beloved son of the late Adassa and Stephen Facey.

Herald attended Bonnett Elementary School and later graduated from Trade School for Building Construction. While in school, he was an avid Cricket player, a passion that reflected his competitive spirit and teamwork.

He dedicated his life to the building trades, working as a Building Construction Worker and a proud member of the Rochester Labor Union-Building Construction Workers. Outside of work, Herald had a deep love for music and found great joy as a DJ, sharing his talent and bringing people together.

On May 29, 2026, Herald transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love, and devotion to his family. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Calvin Facey, Sherine Balkman, Velecia Facey, and Natoya Facey-Andrade; 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters and five brothers; four aunts and uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever hold Herald in their hearts.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 12th, from 6-8pm at Dierna Funeral Home.  A Celebration of his Life will be Saturday, June 13th at 9:30am at Dierna Funeral Home. Interment Falls Cemetery
