Obituaries

Jennifer Lynn Smalls (51) of Farmington, NY passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital on December 22nd, 2025.  Jennifer was born in Canandaigua, NY on October 6th,1974 to Deborah and Keith Klink. She attended Roberts Wesleyan College and graduated with full honors in 2014 with her Masters of Science in Nursing Education.

Jennifer married Steven Smalls on September 27th,1996.  Together they had three children, Aaren James, Janessa Elaine and Jayden Michael.

Jennifer worked as an LPN for many years before pursuing her RN at Monroe Community College.  While she was in her Bachelor of Science program at Suny Brockport, she received the Senator Patricia K McGee Nursing Faculty scholarship in Nursing Education.  She graduated with full honors in 2014 and was awarded the Distinguished Future Educator Award and lived up to that distinction.  In September 2014, she began teaching in the RN to BSN program at Suny Brockport right up until October 2025 when her health no longer allowed her to teach.

In her free time, she loved to participate in fantasy football, murder mystery dinners, and reading.  More than anything she loved to travel, she was fortunate enough to travel to five continents both for work and for pleasure.

Jennifer is survived by her husband Steven; children Aaren, Janessa and Jayden; her parents Keith (Deborah) Klink; sisters Jodi, Jaimie and Jillian (Stephen) Sick; nephews Johnathan and Jarrett; and niece Skylar. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sheila Simmons and brother-in-law Stanley Smalls; and many aunts/uncles and cousins.   She also considered Shawn Jones, Lauren Stowell, Kaitlyn Dattilo, Christian Buchanan, Giovanni Fackelman and Jessi Rockcastle her honorary children. She also is survived by her dear friends Josie Travers, Molly Sidare, Nancy Green and Scott Gentzke.

She was predeceased by grandparents, Harvey and Norma Fisher and Eugene and Evelyn Klink; grandparents through marriage, James and Marion Jenkins; and parents-in-law Eddie and Corine Smalls.

Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 1344 Moseley Road, Victor, NY 14564, on January 10th, 2026, at 3PM EST.
