Julia Hitchcock, at the age of 30, leaves a void in her family’s life, after her sudden passing in December 2025.

In life, Julia was a lover of creatures great and small. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Pinto. She enjoyed trips to Narragansett Beach filled with sunshine, waves, laughter and family. She loved music, podcasts, true crime shows, roller skating, writing, dancing, drawing and art. Julia had many ventures in learning while she sought out her true calling in the world. She found a deep passion in childcare, spending significant time at Asbury Day Care Center where her love for the kids there blossomed. She would draw coloring sheets for them and gave them true compassion and understanding. Being of quiet and gentle spirit, a smile from Julia was truly genuine. She was a whirl of color and will be remembered in the face of flowers or flutter of wings.

Julia is survived by her grandmothers Bette Taylor and Margot Rood; parents Darren Hitchcock and Margaret Taylor; siblings John, Noelle (Lana and Felix) and Asher; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday January 11th, from 12-4pm at Dierna Funeral Home 2309 Culver Rd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

  1. Julia was a beautiful soul and was such a pleasure to be around I’m gonna really miss my sister I love you Julia

  2. If you ever had the honor of knowing Julia, you would have seen the joy and love she had for the children. Julia was one of a kind, a truly amazing and gifted woman, and she is going to be missed but I had the honor to know her and she left a permanent stamp in my heart.

Julia and I remained in contact, after she left Asbury. She shared her aspirations, dreams, goals, and wanted so desperately to have a positive impact on children, and her time with us, she did that!

She was a true light who never passed judgement, would help anyone in need, and always wanted to help others, especially children.

  3. My Sweet daughter Julia, always in my heart, my forever. I will love you for all of my days.
There are no words that can express this tragic loss, nor the 30 years of light you brought into my life. She was a gift I wasn’t ready to give back, and I will miss her in ways language cannot describe. I love you very much, My Sweet Julia.

  4. We are saddened with the passing of our extended family member. Julia, and extend sympathy to her immediate family especially to her mother Peggy. Our thoughts are with you.
