Lazaros Hassos, 58, of Rochester, New York, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 5, 2026.

He was predeceased by his mother, Sandra Hassos. Lazaros is survived by his father, Stavros Hassos; siblings, Demetrios(Christina) Hassos (River Hassos) and Alysha Hassos (Alex, Alaina, and Sonny Dentino); aunts, Domnika (Samuel) Ruggeri (Ariel Ruggeri) and Paula (Bill) Lusher; uncle, Pavlos (Kathy) Hassos; dear friends Amerique (David) Earl and Tim Mahoney; and many extended family members and friends.

Lazaros enjoyed camping, hiking and dancing any chance he got. He brought joy to everyone he met, with a laugh that lifted, a heart that gave freely, and a spirit that could not be contained. Though his time with us was too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain forever.

He will be remembered with gratitude for every smile, hug, and moment shared.

Information about a celebration of life will be shared once confirmed.

  1. I was so sad to hear of Larry’s passing. I knew Larry when he was a teenager and young man. He was always smiling and friendly. In later years I would see him at Wegmans and we would wave to each other and chat briefly. All of the Hasso kids were great people. Rest easy Larry -you are with your mom now. My condolences to Steve, Jim, Alysha and all his family.

  2. Wishing you peace and comfort as you navigate this heartbreak. Deepest condolences for your loss.

  3. I was very sad to hear of Larry’s sudden passing. I went to high school with Larry. I remember him as a kind gentle soul who always had a smile on his face.
