A resident of Spencerport, NY, Peg passed on August 19, 2022, following a two-year battle with cancer. She was born June 28, 1943 in Rochester, NY. Peg went to be with God, her husband, David W Guinnip; and her parents, Frank J. Celento and Mary A. Barone Celento Wall (Gareth Neil Wall). Survived by her loving children David W (Christian) Maier, Kim M (Steve) Burrell, Kelly M Maier, Dawn W (Jason) Trask; brother John Gareth (Donna) Wall. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Josh, Aaron, Jeffrey, Danielle, Casey, Meghan, and Zachary; nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, dear friends, and her Ogden Garden family and staff.
She was a graduate of Nazareth Academy and attended Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts. She went on to work at Kodak, was Alma’s Town Clerk for nearly 20 years, and a substitute teacher aide. She was also a devoted volunteer firefighter/EMT with the Alma Fire Department and volunteered in the classroom.
She was passionate about the holidays and celebrations, drawing and painting, car racing, the Buffalo Bills, attending her grandchildren’s events, silk flower arranging, her plants, and being in the sun. When asked about her favorite vacation, she said, without hesitation, “Las Vegas, Baby!!!”
A future immediate family gathering will take place where Peg and Dave will be joined in Alma, New York. Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral. The family has asked that donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or UR Medicine Hospice, 2180 Empire Blvd. Webster, NY 14580.
“Be who you are and say what you feel,
because those who mind don’t matter and
those who matter don’t mind”.
Dr. Seuss
When I must leave you for a little while,
Please go on bravely with a gallant smile,
And for my sake and in my name,
Live on and do all the things the same –
Spend not your life in empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways –
Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer,
And I, in turn, will comfort you and hold you near.

Had many good talks at the post office and a few lunches. Such a sweetheart.
Peg was an amazing woman, always smiling and making people laugh. We made a great team working together in Pre-K a few years ago! She is a beautiful angel looking down and watching over her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Peg was such a sweetheart! She subbed for me and worked along side of me many of times in the computer lab. Whenever I would pass her in the halls she would always have a smile on her face or making others laugh. Prayers to the family.
Every time I see Peg’s empty shelf in the hallway here at Ogden Gardens, I think of her and remember all the lovely flowers arrangements she made to make our place more beautiful. She was such a vital part of our community and I’m grateful for the time I had to know her. Blessings to all of you.
