Rev. Dr. Anthony D. Bonds
December 6, 1960 – May 3, 2026

Rev. Dr. Anthony D. Bonds entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2026. A devoted servant of God, he faithfully led the Ebenezer Baptist Church as its beloved Pastor, guiding his congregation with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering faith. He was a loving husband to Lady Josephine Bonds, a steadfast community activist, and a cherished friend to many.

Rev. Dr. Bonds dedicated his life to ministry, service, and the betterment of others. His presence touched countless lives, and his legacy of leadership, kindness, and spiritual strength will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Services: Rochester, New York – Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, from 5:00–6:30 PM, followed by a Memorial Service from 6:30–7:30 PM at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, 351 Joseph Ave.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, 174 Thurston Rd., Rochester, NY 14619 or the American Heart Association.

Additional Services in South Haven, Mississippi – Viewing: Friday, May 15th, from 6:00–8:00 PM Celebration of Life: Saturday, May 16th, at 11:00 AM (Visitation from 10:00–11:00 AM) Both services will be held at: Henderson Funeral Home 8043 Getwell Road South Haven, Mississippi 38672 Interment will follow at Senatobia City Memorial Cemetery, Senatobia, Mississippi.

Rev. Dr. Bonds’ life was a testament to faith, love, and service. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

  6. It was my honor to serve as a deacon under Pastor Bonds, I learned much from him and I hope he was pleased with my dedication to serve. Pastor was the most humble individual I have been blessed to know.

  7. I am so sorry to hear about the transitioning of Rev. Bonds. I remember our church (Calvary Spiritual Church). fellowshipping with Ebenezer back in the 80’s – AND, what a time, what a time. My condolences to you (Lady Bonds) and your family. We all shall miss him dearly, but we know he’s with the Lord, the place we want to be, and will be when it’s our time.
