“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7

Reverend Aníbal Mendez‑Valdespina, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully at the age of 96. A man of unwavering faith, he dedicated his life to serving both his family and his community with humility, compassion, and steadfast commitment.

From 1993 to 2018, he volunteered with the New York State Department of Corrections, sharing God’s word and offering spiritual guidance to all who sought it.

He is preceded in death by three of his children.
Left to honor and cherish his legacy are his devoted wife, Margarita Caba De Mendez, his five loving children, a host of grandchildren, extended family, church family, and countless members of the community whose lives he touched.
