Steven Gerard Dewey, born October 10, 1967, passed away peacefully at home on December 8, 2025. He departed surrounded by his family and his two cherished dogs, Mocha and Flurry.

Steve is survived by his wife, Penny, his children, Mckenna, Sean (Tera Boccacci), and Kailee (Tim) Sardone, and his grandchildren, Adelaide and Cicily. He is also survived by his siblings, Karen (James) Guy, Mary Patricia Dewey, and Peter (Pamela) Dewey; and by his nieces and nephews, and cousins. Steve is predeceased by his parents, John Francis “Jack” Dewey and Jeanne P. Dewey.

Steve was born in Webster, New York, to John Francis “Jack” Dewey and Jeanne P. Dewey. He grew up in Webster, attended Webster High School, and was known early in life for his love of sports, especially basketball and lacrosse, as well as for his generous heart. He was exceptionally talented in both sports and carried a deep passion for them. After graduating, Steve continued his education at SUNY Oswego with a basketball scholarship, where he studied business management and specialized in Environmental Services.

Throughout his career, Steve took great pride in his work, dedicating over 30 years to the national, regional, and local recycling and waste industry, and many years on the ARC of Monroe. Beyond his professional accomplishments, his greatest joy came from his family, his close friendships, and the meaningful connections he formed along the way.

Steve lived a simple and deeply intentional life. His family and friends were always his top priority. He was often the first to show up when someone needed help, offering support with unwavering loyalty, warmth, and compassion. To know him was to feel seen and cared for. His impact stretches far beyond words and will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Steve was also a proud Buffalo Bills fan who never missed a chance to cheer them on or wear their colors.

Steve’s life was a gift to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 15, 2026, from 3:00–8:00 PM at Perinton Park; 99 O’Connor Rd, Fairport, NY 14450. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Steve’s life together. Special remembrances will be shared from 5:00–6:00 PM. Casual attire is encouraged, and Buffalo Bills gear is always welcome.”
