Obituaries

Susan “Sue” Marie Heiermann went to the Lord peacefully at home on November 10, 2025, at age 73, surrounded by family after a short illness. Predeceased by her parents Stanley and Ruth Zakrzewski and sister Mary Krebs. Survived by her husband David; children Frank, Mary (Judd Madsen), Mark (Stephanie), Sarah; grandchildren Cayden, Genevieve, Wyatt, Vivian; sisters Kay (Tom) Agnello, Jean Dear, Teresa Kimber; many nieces, a nephew and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Sue raised four kids, managed a home, and ran kitchens in the East Irondequoit school district for over 25 years. Her family was her world and she took immeasurable joy in being a grandma. One of her greatest acts of love (and bravery) was donating a kidney to her sister Mary. Sue is famous for the hundreds of custom cakes she made for birthdays, weddings, and every occasion in between.

Sue believed that the simple joys in life were the ones that mattered most. She’d want you to remember that life’s too short for grudges and far too sweet to spend it being a sourpuss. She lived with grit, grace, and compassion, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the kind of warmth that will forever fill our hearts.

Calling hours will be held on Monday November 17th, from 4-7pm followed by her Funeral Service at 7pm at Dierna Funeral Home 2309 Culver Rd. (near Norton St.)
