Tom’s love and passion was working with wood. He learned the skill in high school and continued this work throughout his life. He loved building furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, and any other remodeling projects. He started his own business, Hussar Kitchens, back in the 1970’s and became a Certified Kitchen Designer.
Tom had a lifelong love for playing baseball and played from when he was a child up until just a couple years ago. He also was extremely creative and invented a board game called Clichebles which sold around the country for many years. He enjoyed the years he attended Toy Fair in NYC and promoting his game. Tom also loved the Adirondacks, especially White Lake where he built two cottages over his lifetime.
Tom devoted his life to his wife, his children and grandchildren. He cherished family time and time with friends. He was also ready and willing to help anyone that was in need of a helping hand. Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Laurie, Janet shared with us your very sad news. Chris and I are so very sorry. We will be keeping you and your children close in prayer
I’ve known the Hussars longer than I can even remember, and Mr. Hussar was always like another dad to me. One of the best Dad joke tellers I’ve ever met, right up there with my dad, and they type of comedian I strive to be for my daughters. He was one of a kind, and someone who lit up every single room he entered. I’ll miss you Mr. Hussar. Rest well.
I’m so very sorry Laurie and family. My heart just breaks for all of you. I did not know Tom well, but what I know from the few time I met him was he was kind, gentle and thoughtful. I know he was loved a lot and will be missed. You will be in my thoughts🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Tom always seemed so happy by your side. Love like yours is very special. Our hearts are so sad with this news. Praying for comfort for you and your family. Hugs & love,
Marti & Dave
Laurie I am so sorry!!! sending prayers to you and your family💔🙏💔🙏💔🙏
Laurie, Jason, Jen and family. There are no words to express how deeply saddened I am to hear of the passing of Tommy! My heart is broken and I am shocked by this terrible news.i have known Tommy and the Hussar family my entire life. The Husssrs lived right behind us in our Irondequoit neighborhood. I remember so many happy memories, from the forts Tommy built on the gully to playing kickball and many other games on the dead end on Taft Avenue. Tommy was always great with a hammer and tools and as a young boy built these elaborate forts that he even carpeted on the inside. We all grew up together and truly had the best of times, There are so many wonderful memories that I will cherish forever! Everyone knew the Hussar boys, Tommy, David and Michael in the neighborhood and then came Eddie and Christine. Growing up with the Hussars was the most fun anyone could imagine. I can still hear Stina (Mrs.Hussar) calling those boys for dinner. The Hussars were our family and I have loved each and everyone of them! Tommy you will be sorely missed but the memories you left will always be some of my fondest! Rest in Peace my childhood friend. Laurie, please know my love, thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. ❤️
Laurie and family, I am so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
There are no words, I’m so very sorry for your loss! My prayers are with you and your family. God bless you all 🙏🏼
To be absent from the body.
Is to be present with the Lord
I love you my Friend 💜
So sad to hear of Tom’s passing. I recall the days from the old Vinal Ave area neighborhood hanging around with him and his brother with fondness. My deepest condolences to his family . R.I. P.

On behalf of the Eastridge Class of 1972 and the Eastridge Alumni Page I shared Tom’s obituary and the words below. It is our custom when someone passes to continue to celebrate them. Know that as the Class of 1972 gathers we will fondly remember Tom and share stories of him.
“It is always difficult to share the news that one of our extended Eastridge Family has passed. Tom was our 1972 classmate. Having over 500 in our class it was hard to know everyone.
Tom was a standout always with the smile that lit up his face like you see in the perfect photo that his family chose. His zest for life and people defined him along with his sense of humor. Tom was a gifted athlete especially baseball.
Please lift up his family including EHS graduates, Laurie, Dave and Donna in the healing light as they mourn their sudden profound loss many of us share in. Feel free to share your memories here but if you click on the Dierna site please share your thoughts with Tom’s family. It will mean so much to them. Memories bring joy and comfort during such difficult times.
Reading Tom’s obituary I am sure you will agree though too short on Earth Tom hit a home run for living his best life.
Tom’s legacy will live on as his family and friends pay his lessons forward to future generations especially as they love each other as he loves them.

Laurie and family, I am shocked and saddened to learn of Tom’s sudden passing. He was truly a great man , I am so very sorry . Thinking back to our time at EHS where we gathered at my house for photos before our Senior Ball and all the great times from EHS and beyond . I will keep you and the family in my prayers. With deepest sympathy, Debbie Piperni ONeill
Laurie – I’ll always remember his smile and laugh, but mainly how much he loved and cherished you and the kids.
We were blessed to spend many years together, your family and mine.
There are no words to describe how much we loved both of you.
My heart is shattered for your loss of Tom. God must have perfected him and brought him home.
Please contact me if you need anything. I’d love to see you after your life has returned to some semblance of normalcy.

I grew up with Tom from elementary school on. We used to race each other in gym class at Abraham Lincoln School. Tom usually beat me as he was very competitive. Tom loved baseball and played in the summer rec programs. He was a pretty good football player in high school as well. Rest in peace my friend.
Knowing tom as a classmate only, always a fair guy with a great disposition. GOD BLESS you Tom , and your family
So sorry to hear about Tom’s passing. I hope he and his family find peace during this difficult time. EHS classmate will hold on to loving memories forever.
Tom Hussar and I have been close friends for over 50 years. He was such a good friend of mine. Helped me whenever I needed help. I’ll never forget the trophy case he built for my sons wrestling accomplishments.
I am so saddened to her of Tommy’s passing. In our little area of Irondequoit we were mostly of Italian descent and a close knit community. Our grandparents were friends. Our parents went to school together. We grew up together. I know Tommy kept in touch with his old high school buddies and that he will be missed by us all.
Laurie, I am so sorry to read about Tom’s passing. He was a great guy- I always enjoyed spending time with you both when I was in Rochester. You guys were so lucky to have each other! My prayers are with you and your family.
Laurie, Sorry for your loss.
Laurie I’m very sad of Tom‘s passing. Even though I live in Arizona I enjoyed watching pictures of you guys especially when y’all went on your hikes. I remember you both from high school very well specially Tom during his wrestling years. I’ve been where you’re headed because I lost my wife eight years ago so I know the feelings that you’re going through right now. The only thing I can tell you with confidence is to take one day at a time and enjoy the memories that you made together through all those years together. It’s sad in any marriage that one will go before the other and it’s very difficult for the other one to adjust. Everybody heals in different ways you do what’s good for yourself when you’re ready you’ll turn the chapter to the rest of your life. My prayers are for you and your family. having lost my wife and my son one thing I can tell you is that there’s a hole that will be in your heart forever and there should be. The love that you shared will always be with you and also the memories you put together. 🙏💔🙏💔🙏💔
My sincere sympathies to Laurie and the entire family. I knew Tommy via EHS sports and you too. He was a great person and you should cherish your time together. God bless.
Laurie, We are so sorry for your loss. We feel very fortunate to have been a part of Tom’s life. It was always fun to say the Lori’s/Laurie’s and Toms are getting together. Although he is no longer by your side, he will always be in your heart and will continue to look over you. We give our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
Laurie, Sorry to hear about Tom’s passing. Condolences to you and the family
