Option 1
Payment in full by cash, check, or credit card upon completion of the arrangement conference. (Credit Cards are subject to 3% convenience fee)
Losing a loved one and saying goodbye is a hard process, but with Dierna Funeral Home, you don’t have to go through it alone. Our entire team is here to help you honor your loved one and give them the memorial they deserve.
Our funeral home is a small business and like many others in the community, out of necessity, we operate on a cash basis, relying upon the families we serve for prompt payment. We do not have sufficient financial resources to extend credit over a period of months or years, nor does the law allow us to fulfill the functions of a bank or other lending institution. Therefore we ask that all services must have financial arrangements for payment complete before any public announcement of funeral arrangements is made.
For your benefit and complete understanding of how funeral accounts are to be paid, we would like to provide you with this copy of our payment policy. We encourage your frank discussion of these matters with your funeral director, and we will attempt to assist you in any way possible.
The following payment options are available to you in settling your account.
Payment in full by cash, check, or credit card upon completion of the arrangement conference. (Credit Cards are subject to 3% convenience fee)
We will honor an insurance assignment which can be processed upon completion of the arrangement conference. We will need the insurance policy, a certified copy of the death certificate, and an assignment that will be accepted by the insurance company. Any charges not covered by the policy will need to be addressed at the arrangement conference.
The policy can be used as payment for funeral expenses. Insurance assignment is acceptable if the following criteria are met:
The policy death benefit proceeds are verified by us, and all documentation is signed preceding the funeral.
The policy is assignable and payable directly to the funeral home. The policy must be non-contestable (if in the contestable period, the policy will not be accepted as a form of payment).
If the insurance company does not pay the balance of the statement, the person signing the Statement of Goods and Services is responsible for paying the full amount.
Pre-Arranged Funeral Insurance and Service Guarantee
We offer assistance in setting up pre-paid funeral trust accounts to help you plan with confidence. These accounts remain fully under your control and can be transferred to any funeral home of your choice if you decide to make a change. Rest assured, the funds are not held by us but are securely managed to ensure transparency and flexibility.
Our service fees, when paid in full, are locked in at current pricing, providing peace of mind and protection from future price increases for the covered services.
For any additional services or arrangements beyond those outlined, the family or estate will be responsible for the costs at the time of need. We are here to guide you through every step to ensure your plans are fully funded and aligned with your wishes.
